WIPocalypse March

Hello everyone, it's time to link up for Wipocalypse for March.  I'm a bit early but as I've got a 12 hour shift at work tomorrow and I haven't posted any progress from IHSW I thought I'd just do it all now.

This is hosted by Melissa of Measi's Musings. I've been working on Treasure Hunt Bookshelf again this month.  Here's where I started on Friday

And here's where I am now

I've finished 6 pages in total. I'm continuing across the top next which has a lot of blocks of the same colour so I'm hoping to make some quicker progress.  I've not been meeting my 500 stitches a day target in the last couple of weeks.

Our question this month is: Do you use hoops, stretcher bars, lap stands or Q snap frames and why? (viaCathieJ)

I used to use a hoop when I first started out but found that they marked the fabric and were difficult to move.  I then moved on to using an Able Stretcher frame which is great when you can get the whole piece of fabric into it.  I discovered Q snaps fairly recently when my Mum bought me 2 different sized ones she found in a charity shop.  I've since found a 3rd in a charity shop (for £2.50!).  I think these are fantastic, so quick and easy.  I've been using felt to protect my stitches and trying to remember to take it off the frame when I'm not working on it.  I've never tried a frame on a stand.  I like to sit back and lounge while I'm stitching, I don't think I'd find it comfortable.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to catching up with everyone's progress soon!

  5. Beautiful progress this month! Good luck in meeting your daily goal, though I know it's tricky with lots of confetti. Love the detail in those shelves though. :)
