Use a Sentiment at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is Use a Sentiment.

I have made a card for my in-laws golden wedding anniversary at the end of this month.
The chart is from Ultimate Cross Stitch Cards magazine.  Stitched on 14 count aida using the recommended floss. The aperture card and bow are from my stash.

I had a job finding an aperture card to fit but when I was having one last rummage through my stash I came across this one which fits perfectly!

Christmas is Coming at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month is Christmas is Coming.

I've made this pretty angel using a kit from The Nutmeg Company.  I love their 3D cross stitch kits, they're fiddly but worth the effort as the results are stunning.

Autumn or Halloween at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is Autumn or Halloween.

I've chosen to make a card using this pattern using just black thread on a dark blue evenweave.  I think it looks quite effective and a, pleased with how it turned out.

I'm not really someone who does much for Halloween so I'm not sure what I'll do with this now it's done.  Perhaps I'll keep it for myself!

For the Boys/Men at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month isFor the Boys/Men.

I've stitched this sailboat for my Father-in-Law as he used to do a bit of sailing.  I was going to tie the baker's twine in the middle with a bow with it stretched tight but when I laid it in the card I quite liked how it looked like waves so I left it.

Add a Charm at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is Add a Charm.

I've used some embosssed card from my stash to cover a gift tag card then cut a circle in the middle using a die.  I put a smaller circle of silver in the middle and dangled my snowglake charm on some silver thread.  Finally I added a ribbon.

I think this is quite elegant and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

At The Beach at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is At The Beach.

I've stitched this image of Durdle Door for my father-in-law's birthday.  It's stiched 2 over 2 on 28 count evenweave using the recommended DMC threads.  The peel off sentiment is from my stash and I made the aperture card myself.

I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, it's not a brilliant picture but I've added some wadding behind the stitching so it really stands out.
