Monochrome at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month is Monochrome.

I made this card for a friend as her daughter had a baby girl earlier this month. I've had this chart from Cross Stitcher magazine for ages and have been looking for an excuse to stitch it!

The tiny teddy and pearls are from my stash.

Autumn at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is Autumn.
I don't know where the summer went, I can hardly believe it's September already!

I love the colours in this design, it's from Cross Stitch Crazy magazine. The card and paper arefrom my stash.  I'm going to give this to my Dad for his birthday, as he's a keen gardener I think he'll like it.

Anything Goes at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month is Anything Goes.

I made this card for Mother's Day, I love the colours in the flower.

The leaves are done in variegated thread, it's the first time I've used this type of thread but I love the effect it gives.

Animals at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month is Animals.

I made this card using a kit from The Nutmeg Company.  They specialise in 3D cross stitch cards and buildings.  I've made one of their houses before, very fiddly but stunning!

It's stiched on perforated paper using the threads included in the kit.  It really reminds me of my old stitching buddy, he was a tabby cat.

For a baby or child at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new monthly challnge at Unicorn.  Our theme this time is for a baby or child

I saw this chart in a magazine and thought it would be perfect for my son, aged 11.  He loves crazy golf, if we go anywhere that has a course we have to have a go.  My Dad has even put a hole in his lawn so he can play at their house!

It's stiched 2 over 1 on 14 count aida using the recommended DMC threads.

Summer is Coming at Craft Rocket

Hello again everyone, it's time for a new monthly challenge at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this month is Summer is Coming.

I made this card a little while ago for a gift exchange at a cross stitch retreat.  I think mermaids and the beach are very summery and the seaside was the theme for the gift exchange.

The chart was from World of Cross Stitch magazine and was stitched 2 over 1 on 14 count aida using the recommended DMC threads.  I changed it slightly as it was meant to say have a fin-tastic valentine's day.  I removed valentine's, moved up day and added the clam shell from one of the other charts in the series to fill in the gap.  The sparkly paper is from a pad I bought in Lidl ages ago.  I keep hoping they'll have those pads again but I haven't seen them since.
