IHSW September

Hello everyone, I'm a bit late as usual with my IHSW update.  I work on Mondays and Tuesdays so find it difficult to get on the computer to blog.

This month I only worked on Forest Walk.  My supposed rotation is not rotating at all!

I'm just over half way with this now.  The confetti is making it slow going but I think I'm going to stick with it until it's finished then go back to Bamboo Fan.

Until next time, happy stitching!

Wedding Sampler

Hello everyone, I've realised I never blogged the wedding sampler I made for my Husband's cousin.  She asked me to stitch something for her to give as a gift at a wedding they were going to in August.  I didn't want to post it before the big day and then forgot all about it!  So here it is at last.

It was a nightmare to do, she didn't want anything too big so I had to rechart the picture that she liked to make it smaller.  It took me a while to get the border to line up properly.  It also has silver metallic thread which I hate stitching with. It made the finished picture a non standard shape so in lieu of her reimbursing me for the materials I let her have the pleasure of framing it!

Here's the original chart in the magazine it came from.

Has anyone spotted the mistake in it?  There is a flower in the top right corner that isn't finished.  Luckily I noticed before I handed it over!  If you notice any more I don't want to know!!

A Finish!

Hello everyone, I have a finish to show you today!  Pretty Little Hong Kong is done!

Stitched on 18 count Zweigart Davosa Ivory 2 over 1 using the recommended DMC threads.

I really enjoyed stitching this, no fractional stitches, minimal backstitching and it brings back many happy memories of a wonderful city.  Now I have to decide what to do with it.  My husband thinks a cherry wood frame would look nice.

What to stitch on next?  I think I'll go back to Forest Walk for a while.  It's on the verge of looking like a dragon and I really want to see the result of all the fiddly confetti stitching come together.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Stitching until next time.

Unicorn's First Challenge - Mythical and Magical

Hello Crafters!

I am so excited to share my first DT card with you all today on a brand new challenge blog - Unicorn Challenge!

http://unicornchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

We are a monthly challenge blog for any type of cards.  Our theme for this month is Mythical and Magical so we would love to see your witches, wizards, dragons, fairies elves, mermaids and any other fantastical creatures.  Our DT have some brilliant creations to inspire you so please come on over and join in!

I've made a cute little fairy, stitched from a pattern from Ultimate Cross Stitch Cards magazine using threads from my stash.  I have layered the card with plain blue card and papers from Docrafts Papermania capsule collection.  I added a flourish and some blue gems.
